St. Brendan was known for his desire for adventure and journey. Like our namesake, we are committed to the adventure of following Jesus, loving and encouraging one another, and demonstrating His love to those around us. We aren’t perfect. We don’t have it all figured out. We embrace questions and promise few answers. Yet, together we are seeking God’s presence in our lives and want to journey together for personal and social transformation. St. Brendan’s in the City values growing together in faith and honoring every community member at the place they are at in their own journey. We believe God’s love, mercy, and grace are transformative. By sharing in worship, the Eucharist, prayer, scripture, and community gatherings we engage with God and one another through body, mind, and spirit. St. Brendan’s in the City believes that through our community God can transform workplaces, neighborhoods, our families, and friends. We seek to let our faith transform our lives as much throughout the week as in our weekend services. Our city and our world too often allow the broken - physically, financially, and spiritually - to be forgotten. We partner to serve in DC and around the world to offer hope and healing to the poor, the widow, and the orphan.
